The Objective Our brief, to join Michael O’Hare and a team of chefs and their guests on a trip to Morzine, France – to film and create a documentary that captures the trip by day and night.
The Beginning We headed to Morzine in January with Michael O’Hare, Michael Wignall, Gareth Ward, Tom Brown, Peter Sanchez and a whole team of other legends. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity for us to work with some of the best chefs in the UK, make a film, eat some top-class food and snowboard – what a week!
The Output By day we were out on the slopes snowboarding and filming, by night capturing the six legendary chefs creating and serving a completely unique menu of high class food to 10 guests they had invited. We have captured some really laid back footage of the chefs, which we feel, really expresses the individual personalities of the six chefs. The video is shot in black & white and heavily inspired by old school 90s snowboarding videos. The kick ass ‘prog rock’ music used throughout the documentary was selected by Michael O’Hare; NSD are so in to the music, this has really added extra funk and dimension to the documentary.
The week consisted of long days shooting as much as we could to take back with us. We won’t forget it, the trip will always be up there with our greatest projects. It was an honour to be asked along by Michael O’Hare and produce the documentary for them.
