WRECKFISH | DOCUMENTARY
Blood, sweat, tears & crowdfunding. The incredible, emotional story of what goes on behind the scenes of launching a restaurant.
In 2016 we were approached again to support an ambitious crowdfunding project, by the team behind Sticky Walnut, Burnt Truffle & HISPI restaurants, to support the launch of new restaurant concept, Wreckfish.
This was a project full of passion, and it was incredible to be part of it. Natural Selection Design supported the video production element of the campaign. This included creative direction, strategy, graphic design, video production, and the filming of a 26-minute documentary. The full kit and caboodle of our creative expertise, bundled into one project.
Our documentary video charted the journey of the pop-up restaurant events, and the behind the scenes interviews with owner and chef, Gary Usher, and his team. In just 24 hours the video achieved in excess of 5,000 views on social media. In May 2017 a second video will launch – kick-starting the fundraising process, with an aim to raise the remaining £200k needed to launch the restaurant.
As part of the work we shot a photo diary to support the documentary, and have developed the Wreckfish brand identity, including logo and branding.
Natural Selection Design has played an integral part in several crowdfunding projects for the food and beverage industry, and understand what’s needed to get your message across, and attract a new legion of fans.
